Always summer

Sitting here in the heat of July

Yet its January

Sipping my iced orange juice

The blazing sun glaring at me

I realise that you can escape winter

The cold and drizzly days

Where everything is a shade of grey

And it can be summer all year round

It’s weird, I mean, I feel like I’ve skipped forward a couple of months

And when I go back

To the cold and wet and grey

It will be like time travelling

Through the seasons

As I’m sat in the blue skies and burning heat

Dried white flowers floating down gently in the soft breeze

Snowflakes falling in the summer sun

I feel happy

I like it this way

For a while, at least

15th Jan 2024

Sitting on the edge of the pool

The blue tiles so bright and beautiful

The water is cold as I slip my legs in

The heat of the sun warming my upper body

I delay entering

But I’m done with waiting

Deciding debating

I want to go for it

Just do it

So I go in

My whole body

And it’s so nice

Free

I swim and swim and swim

12 lengths in total

And all I want is to just decide

To just do

And it feels good
